That "tropical" feel

February 28, 2022

Monday Feb 28: Periods of rain with some breezes up to 15 mph can be expected for the rest of the week. Moisture extending down to just north of Hawaii is being pumped into parts of our region. That's why it's mild with a "tropical" feel (it was 61 degrees at 2:00am!). Total rainfall through Tuesday evening has the potential to be anywhere between 3/4" to 1 1/2". Snow levels today and Tuesday above 7000'. The bulk of the rain this week will occur through Wednesday afternoon. Storm systems will also become colder Wednesday onward. Snow levels lower to 5000' Wednesday then 3000' Thurs-Fri. Tomorrow, Tuesday March 1, begins the Meteorological Spring. Clocks go forward one hour on March 13. Astronomical Spring occurs on March 20.

Water Vapor satellite image shows a decent plume of moisture, that extends down to near Hawaii, being pumped into parts of our region.
