Showers winding down...snow?

March 13, 2023

It's much colder today! Showers are winding down (as of 5:30pm, we've recorded just over an inch of rain today in Cottage Grove). Snow levels have lowered at times this afternoon to 800-1200' due to the cold air moving in. Although the main rain band is now east/southeast of us, scattered showers will continue across the area to just after sunset, then become isolated before completely ending by midnight. There's the possibility that snow levels may briefly lower to 600-800' this evening / tonight with perhaps some slush or even a light dusting. By the time the lowest snow levels arrive, most of the moisture with this storm will be gone. Breezes have ended so winds will be light to calm. Low temperatures tonight are expected to bottom out at somewhere between 29° and 32°. This means roads may be icy after about 4:00am until around 8:00am. At this time, Tuesday and Wednesday look to be mainly dry with only an isolated shower or two. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday should have plenty of sunshine before unsettled weather returns to the area on Sunday (not a washout). More rain next Monday (as it looks now).
