Another 1-2" of rain on the way! Clocks go back one hour tonight.

November 5, 2022

Clocks go back an hour tonight. Current storm is winding down. As of 5:00pm, we've recorded 1.70" of rainfall from this system and the highest wind gust was 21 mph. Showers will end this evening with the next very wet and cold storm arriving 4-7am Sunday. Winds Sunday can gust up to 25 mph and we can see another 1"-1.5" of rain through Monday (heaviest rain 10am-10pm Sunday). Snow levels Sunday - Monday above 2000', but can't rule out a dusting to near 1500' if a cold column of air passes over just right Sunday night through Monday morning. Snow is unlikely in Cottage Grove.

Maybe a lingering shower or two on Tuesday, then, at this time, it looks dry and cold Wednesday through Friday and possibly into next weekend. I'm a little concerned about the anomalous high pressure in the North Pacific and parts of the west, which may be strong enough to block storm systems from affecting the PacNW. This may result in an extended dry period from Wednesday through sometime between Nov 15-20. Key words are "may" and "how it looks at this time."
