NO Ice Storm, NO Snow, NO Strong Winds - Just Cold!

NO ICE STORM / NO SNOW / NO STRONG WINDS

  • Cold air will move in on Friday-Saturday. This will cause low temperatures at night to bottom out in the middle 20's from Friday night through Wednesday morning of next week. Fog / low cloud / peeks of sun pattern will probably continue through tomorrow then start to get mixed out on Friday by the weak / dry low pressure system that will cross the state and bring in the colder / drier air. Still may see some fog Fri-Sat, but isn't expected to linger around. Fog will be much harder to form Sunday onward due to drier air filtering in.
  • Lows of 26-28° expected Friday / Saturday nights, then coldest nights / mornings will be Sunday night / Monday morning and Monday night / Tuesday morning (lows 23-26). Normal high/low is 49/34.
  • Seeing some good signs that the "R" word might come back into our weather around Fri Jan 25 or Sat Jan 25. This may be in the form of one or more storm systems that begin to regularly pass through the Pacific Northwest.
  • Computer models have been very goofy and polarized this year, so when looking beyond 5-days, accuracy has been low. The main reason is the ridiculously strong, blocking, and persistent high pressure in parts of the North Pacific Ocean and across much of the west at times. High pressure this strong is very hard to "break down" and is therefore blocking against any low pressure systems trying to get through.
  • Remember to test your fire alarms each month. Those of you who knocked it off the wall with a broom because it beeped from holiday baking, remember to make sure it's all working good.
